DUNDEE GROUND SCREW COMPANY SURPASSES £9M TURNOVER AS GLOBAL DEMAND GROWS FOR SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE

One of Dundee’s fastest growing sustainable businesses has surpassed £9 million in turnover after recording 33% year-on-year growth, underlining rising demand for environmentally responsible solutions and the company’s continued commercial success.

Founded in 2019 by Callum Milne, RADIX is a specialist in developing and manufacturing sustainable screw pile and ground screw foundation systems, which support renewable energy, transport and infrastructure, modular construction, leisure and tourism, and residential development projects.

RADIX’s concrete free screw pile foundation systems reduce embodied CO₂e by over 60% compared to traditional civils methods, while delivering faster, cleaner installation with no excavation or spoil removal.

Since launching, the team has grown to 22 employees, based between the company’s Dundee headquarters and its Chelmsford operational hub.

RADIX operates its own commercial installation division, delivering a fully end-to-end service in the Battery Energy Storage System space and on larger-scale projects. Complementing this, the company’s accredited and approved No More Digging network is strategically placed across the UK, supporting RADIX’s teams and delivering a wide range of installation services across multiple sectors.

The company’s continued growth correlates directly with growing pressure to deliver infrastructure faster and reduce carbon emissions. With turnover forecast to reach £12 million in 2026, the business is firmly on an upward trajectory, driven by sustained demand across renewable energy, infrastructure and development sectors.

From its Dundee headquarters, the company supports projects across Europe, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East. RADIX was recently involved with SUPERNODE, a major Australian battery energy storage project which incorporated RADIX’s structural platform and screw pile systems, demonstrating the scalability of its solutions in major global renewable energy markets.

The company’s growth has been matched by investment at home, with the expansion of its Dundee headquarters and warehousing capability in 2023, and the securing of additional warehousing capacity at its Chelmsford base in April 2026.

RADIX has also increased delivery capacity and invested in advanced manufacturing equipment, including the acquisition of the Phelix HF50 Helical Former to strengthen in-house UK production capability, quality control and supply resilience.

In September 2025, the company launched a next-generation precision torque monitor in collaboration with Datum Electronics, a global leader in torque and strain measurement solutions. The new system sets a benchmark for torque monitoring in portable ground screw installation, delivering real-time, high-accuracy data directly to smartphones and tablets on site.

These investments support the company’s ambition to scale, with a target of £20 million turnover within the next three years, all while retaining engineering expertise and operational capability in Scotland.
