Embark, a financial technology firm based in Dundee is now offering people a unique opportunity to join them, after recently announcing plans to once more create over 50 new jobs in the local area. They will now host a unique Recruitment Day on Monday May 30 at their office on 8 Marketgait, where candidates can leave with a new job on the day.
A fast growing company and one of the UK’s leading retirement solutions providers, Embark was bought by Lloyds Banking Group for nearly £400 million last summer. The company now wants to build on its success by further developing its operations in Dundee.
Embark Group’s presence in the city began with its acquisition of Alliance Trust Savings in late 2019. The firm’s commitment to the city continued when it hired over 50 people last year, complementing the 110 existing colleagues who have been located in Dundee since 2020. It also sponsors Scotland’s largest e-bike scheme Embark Dundee which had 16,000 users last year alone and saved an estimated 95,400m3 of carbon.
Now the firm is in the process of hiring more than 50 new staff in Dundee, and is inviting people to a special Recruitment Day event as part of its hiring plan. The event will be held in the company’s Marketgait offices in the city centre on Monday May 30, and is part of a new phase for the growing Dundee firm.
Chief executive Peter Docherty emphasised that “This is a chance to join a fast-growing, dynamic and progressive financial technology company, with hundreds of employees in Dundee and across the UK.”
There are a wide range of roles on offer, from entry level administrative roles to IT development, customer service, HR and marketing. Details can be seen on their Embark Careers website.
This initial Recruitment Day on 30 May will focus on Customer Service roles.
Those signing up will be interviewed on Monday May 30 and if successful will:
- Have a job offer made on the same day
- Receive full training
- Start with Embark as soon as 20 June

University of Dundee, I did a Law degree and graduated in 2004.

What is your role and key responsibilities?
My role is Operations Transformation Manager. I help support the wider business in successful delivery of projects and reviewing of processes to identify improvements. It means you get experience in change disciplines similar to a business analyst and you also get experience of working with the operational teams on elements like business readiness, process development and more. It is a very varied role, so you’re never bored!
What do you find most exciting about Embark?
